An ex cellent nfle shot; has taken part in matches in several of the colonies. In a match at Randwick made top score at 500 yards amongst 750 competitors, making nine bulls eyes and one magpie. In all branches of athletics, including rowing and running, has won quite £.500 in .trophies and money. Thomas, William, sergeant, born at Camborne, Cornwall, 1854; married. When a lad of sixteen years enlisted in British Army. Served in Spanish Civil War for fifteen months in 187545. fighting on aid* of Royalist*.- Came to South 'Australia in 1879. When local forces were reorganized was made a warrant officer and quarter master-sergeant of 2nd Battalion. ? As a drill instructor his cervices have been much in requisition.
