'QUAKE ON THE LAKE
CANBERRA (by tele- printer) — After earth tremors shook Canberra twice yesterday members
of the Lake George sailing club 20 miles from here, went out to see if the waters were still there. Two years ago an earth- quake disturbed the rock bed of the lake, allowing water to fill it for the first time in many years. Last night there were no signs that the lake was emptying. Severe tremors were felt at Gunning, 20 miles from Lake George, and also at Parramatta, near Sydney.
