VERDICT FOR DEFENDANTS
IN LIBEL ACTION
SYDNEY.—A verdict for the de- fendants was given by a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday in the case in which Constable N. W. Grigg claimed damages for alleged libel against the Police Commissioner (Mr. Mackay), Consolidated Press Ltd., publishers of the "Sunday Telegraph," and its editor, Cyril Pearl.
Costs of the hearing, which lasted 21 days, are estimated at over £8000 A stay of proceedings was granted.
