THE DISPUTED TASMANIAN ELEC-
FINDING OF THE COMMITTEE.
Melbourne, May 29.
Further consideration was given by the
Elections and Qualifications Committee of the House of Representatives to-day to the petition by Mr. J. C. Whitelaw against the
election of Mr. Hartnoll, one of the repre- sentatives for Tasmania. After hearing the evidence, Sir Edward Braddon announced that the Committee found that Mr. Hart- noll had committed an informality in no- minating by telegraph instead of signing his name at the foot of the nomination-paper, but that it was not considered a sufficient reason for disturbing the election.
