CURTAIN FALLS Making his final swim. ming appearance before leaving for England on Wednesday to study art, the 24-year-old painter and mu sician Rolf Harris helped Bassendean to a 21-point victory against Guildford yesterday. Harris, who plans to sup port himself while abroad by his earnings as an enter tainer-he scored outstand ing successes in Amateur Hour shows last year-has also won Australian hon. ours for swimming and is captain of the Bassendean club. Despite a recent Illness, he showed during the weekend that he can 'still hold his own in good company. He won the senior men's back stroke championship at Saturday's pennant carnival and was prominent in - the Morley and Livie Cup com petitions yesterday. Harris won the senior back-stroke and breast stroke races and was a member of two winning re lay teams.
