She is Mary Briggs. a Tas manian, who is a nurse at the Queen Victoria Mater nity Hospital. : She fractured her spine in a fall the day after fin- . isning her midwifery ex amination. Nurse Briggs was told of her credit by the five other credit-winners who are also from the Queen Victoria.
Still in their uniforms the nurses made a special taxi trip to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Top credit went to 23 year-old Norah Geral dine Bienell, who also topped net finals in Hobart before coming to Adelaide with her sister Marion. Marion, who is 25. won fourth credit.
