AN OWNER PASSES AWAY

.WHILE BHIS HORSE WAS WINNING

Melbourne, Saturday.

Mr. Walter James Sheather, aged   65 (?) years, one of the best-known graziers on the Murray, was leading   one of his horses round the enclosure at the Corryong races on Thursday when he was seized with illnes. He was removed to the committee room where a doctor attended him.

Ridden by Mr. Keith Sheather, only Child (?) of the owner, the horse, Calicut, was allowed to take its chance in the event. After a keenly contested race Calicut won by a neck. While the horse was winning, Mr. Sheather died.
