SUMMER CLOTHING.
VOILK DRESSES__
Amongst the new designs in volle which I are being offered for our choice this year
arc a great many striped patterns, some of them, in novel and attractive , colourings, and. with wide and .narrow stripes com- bined. Three and four different colours may begronped together in one design,' so , that the material is difficult to use by itself, . and'needs to be relieved with a plain voile I in order .to get the best effect. For making
np such stuffs the design 'which I bave chosen for reproduction this week would answer admirably. The lower part of the skirt, .with the stripes running horizon- tally, is arranged to give a pocket effect at the sides. Tiny round buttons covered with the plain voile are used as trimming, and a very new feature of the dress is the little closely pleated frill which finishes tho neck opening in front. Every dress must have a touch of frilling somewhere. ,
