Men Wanted For Militia.— No. 7
Ordnance Is A Vital Link
ALTHOUGH their work is not so' widely known as that of other units, the ' Australian Army Ord nance Corps is a vital link in the
army chain. The men in this corps are responsible for all equipment except food, for the issue of clothing, repair of guns, issue and storage of ammunition and repair of any vehicles— motor, horse, or tanks — which may be damaged. Because of the highly technical nature of their work, the militia men wanted by the corps must be tradesmen. Most urgently wanted at present are armament fitters, coppersmiths, electricians, fitters, turners, cooks, storcmen, and clerks. No date has been fixed yet for the Corps' 70 days camps. Those in the stores branch will be trained at the Ordnance Stores, Gaythorne, the others in the workshops at Victoria Barracks. Applications for militia service with the corps should be made at the House craft Training School, 184 St Paul's Terrace, Brisbane. ? TO-MORROW: The Boyal Aus tralian Engineers.
