Death of Mr. A. Adie
Mr. Alexander Adie, 79, of Childers, died on Thursday. He was born in Aberdeen, and came to Australia when he was 20 years old.
He was a director of the Isls Cen tral Sugar Mill Co., Ltd., for 34 years, and chairman for 25 years continuously until his death; a member of the Isis Shire Council for 30 years, and chair man for nine years, retiring from the council last year; a member of the Isis Cane Growers' executive, and of the Queensland Cane Growers' Coun cil; senior vice-president of the A.S.P.A.; and a member and first chairman of the Isis Hospital Board. At the time of his death he owned a sugar plantation of 600 acres in the Isis, and two cattle stations — Agnes Vale, .in the Isis district, and Bucca, in- the Bundaberg district. He is sur vived by a widow, one daughter— Miss Nell Adie, and two sons — Messrs. J. and W. Adie (Childers).
