WE, the Emigrants of the Ship Florentia, under the

command of T. H. BANKS, Esq., being fully con vinced of his general and lasting friendship, as well as his willingness and cheerfulness to render all the assistance he possibly could to us at large-being to us, in need or trouble, like a father and a friend and never failing to visit us in danger ; whose presence we always beheld with the greatest delight ; therefore beg that he will accept at our hands, as the only tribute we can confer in the shape of gratitude, these our acknow- ledgments of the almost unparalleled kindness and courtesy he has shown to us during the voyage, and for which we now return him one most hearty thanks. And we earnestly hope that God may bless him for his paternal attention to our wants, while we, at the same time, pray for his many happy days in time und

eternity.

[Signed by ninety-eight of the immigrants.]
