BIRTHS. On the 17th, the wife of James Barnard, Esq., of a son. On Sunday, 27th January, at Gawler Town, South Austra- lia, Mrs. F. G. Moreton of a daughter. MARRIAGES. At St. Peter's Church, Melbourne, on Thursday, the 12th instant, by the Rev. Augustus Strong, M.A., Lewis Charles Conran, Captain in H.M. 11th regiment, to Catherine Spencer Wills, only daughter of Thomas Wills, Esquire, of Lucerne, near Melbourne.   At the Great Synagogue, Duke-street, London, by the Rev. Dr. Ardler, Chief Rabbi, Ralph Raphael, of Adelaide, to Esther, daughter of S. Lemmon, Esq., of Edgeware-road, London. On 30th ult., Mr. Morris Marks, of the Liverpool Mart, Hindley-street, Adelaide, to Miss Leah Solomon, of Currie- street, sister of Mr. Judah Moss Solomon. The ceremony was performed by Mr. Abraham Solomons, a Jewish Rabbi, lately arrived from London. In addition to a large attendance of ladies and gentlemen of the Jewish faith, Drs. Kent, Western, and other highly respectable citizens, honored the nuptials with their presence. The ceremony was in strict accordance with the time-honored customs of the ancient faith, including the raised canopy, and the breaking of a glass by the bridegroom. On Sunday morning, 3rd instant, at half-past six o'clock, at his residence, Hindley-street, West, Adelaide, Mr. Samuel Stocks, junior aged 37.     At her residence, Balmain, New South Wales, Catherine Mary, the beloved wife of Captain P. Cooney, late of the barque Caernarvon, aged twenty-five years.
