Stepney Kindergarten Renamed
The St. Peters Council has agreed to a suggestion that the Stepney Free Kindergarten be renamed the Agnes Goode Kindergarten to com-
memorate the work of the late pre sident of the kindergarten (Mrs. A. K. Goode). Mrs. Goode, who was the only woman to become a member of tbe St. Peters Council, was a promi nent welfare worker in the district. The suggestion for the renaming of the kindergarten was contained in a letter from the secretary (Mrs. Joan Chapman). To raise funds for the kinder garten, a bridge party will be held in the St. Peters Town Hall on October 8, and the Mayor and Mayoress of St. Peters (Mr. and Mrs. G. I. Meller) have granted their patronage to a revue in the town hall on October 20. Horses in-action will be held on the Payne ham Oval on November 22.
