THE WIFE'S SHARE.
A writer la a work oa farming, de votes a portion of It in dealing witk the home and the tanner* wife, la not the work of a farmer* wife to particular, as hard for her aa her husband's to for him?" he ask*. "Her work does not bring the money directly, but is it any lees important? As a rule, how much would a maa amount to who attempted to do his work out doors and tend to his home at the same time?" And the author answers, "If the wife works as hard and as faithfully as her husband (which most farmers' wives do) then there is no good reason why she sbould not be an equal partner and sharer ot the proceeds of their joint labors. But the writer does not like, the idea ot allowing her a stated sum per week or month. We pay ser vants in that manner, he says, and the wife is not a servant. Rather than that, treat her as a partner, wih a partner's privileges. Consult with her about your more important matters, then you need not fear any extra vagance, if she has free access U> the general funds. Speaking of the wife whoUiu to ask her husband "for every penny, the author says: "Have you any idea, my masculine friends, how she most hate to do this, if she is a spirited woman?"
