VICTORIA PARK LEADS. WEST PERTH'S WIN, SOUTH FREMANTLE SUCCEEDS.

(By 'Follower^')

East Freman tie's decisive defeat at the hands of West Perth and Victoria Park's overwhelming victory at the expense of Swan Districts on Saturday have necessi

tated alterations to the premiership, table for the West Australian National Football League's competition. As a result East Fremantle has lost its lead of four points, and on percentages is now lower than Victoria Park and West Perth. Victoria Park actually heads the list, a position which it hopes to fill at the close of the season and, judging by its last two per formances, that is by no means a hope less ambition. South Fremantle won by three points from East Perth, and Subiaco, in typical style, won its first match for the season by 103 points. The quarter scores in each match were: — i 4 J Final Pts. In 1916 East Fremantle scored 181 points and Victoria Park's total on Saturday was 182. Victoria Park outclassed Swan Dis tricts, revealing great strength and abilitv. West Perth defeated East Fre mantle more decisively than that team has suffered for some time. Without Taylor, Truscott and Kingsbury, East Fremantle was below normal strength; nevertheless, West Perth beat it soundly. Improvement in the second half enabled South Fremantle to overhaul East Perth's score gradually and to win rather, unexpectedly 1-y three points. . Glaremont-Cottesloe gave a dis appointing display and in a drab match Subiaco was easily the better team.
