RAILWAY STATIONS ON THE PERTH*
To THE EDITOR.
SIR,-I notice by your issae of to-day that a deputation waited on tbe Premier, asking for a railway station on the Fremantle line at the intersection of Thomas-street with the railway line. Before granting this request, should it not be well for the Commissioner to consider whether a better plan would not be to remove North Perth Station from its present position and erect it at Dyer-street level crossing ? This neighbourhood is getting thickly popu- lated, and a station there would be of great convenience to hundreds, whereas a station at Thomas-street would benefit perhaps one or two. It is plain that, since the extension of the Central Station premises to Melbourne- road (and even before), North Perth Station is much too close to the Central Station, and by moving tbe former to Dyer-street, abont 30 chains, the wishes and convenience of many
people would be met.
