PERTH ROAD BOARD.
Money for Works.
The Perth Road Board, at a meeting last night, received a letter from the Qnder-Secretary for Works and Labour (Mr. C. A. Munt) stating that the Min
ister had allotted £2,579 to the board from the Traffic Trust Account. The amount was made up as follows: — For expendi ture on that portion of the Bassendean road within the board's district, £528; a second contribution towards the cost of maintenance and improvements to Beau fort-street, £516; for other roads. £1.53.5. The secretary (Mr. W. E. Stockdalel reported that rates totalling £4,419 had been collected during September to date as follows:— Road rates, £3,514; health rates, Maylands. £872; health rates, Os borne Park, £33. He said that the debit balance at the bank, after providing for accounts, was £2543, compared with a debit balance of £4,313 at September 29 last year. A letter was received from the Department of Lands and Survey in which it was stated that the name of Fitzgerald street, from Walcott-street to Bradford street, had now been officially changed to Alexander-drive.
