MR. JUSTICE STUMM'S DEATH.

BRISBANE, May 1— The trial of Charles Claude Sexton, who was charged with hav ing unlawfully killed Mr. Justice Stumm, at. Brisbane, on February 27, was con

cluded in the Supreme Court to-day. .Air. Justice Stumm died as the result of in juries received when struck by Sextons car. The jury, after 50 minutes' retirement, returned a verdict of not guilty, and ac cused was discharged. Florence Ethel Green, matron of St. Martin's Hospital, in the coures of evi dence, said that when M.r Justice Stumm was brought into the hospital he was ap parently quite conscious, and spoke clearly and sensibly. He said, 'They tell me I tripped over my umbrella. They are mak ing a great fuss about nothing.'
