Appropriate apparatus, leetur ettes, and photographs specially obtained from England would make -the function memorable 'in the records of the society.' Owing to indisposition, Professor G. EL 'Nicholls was unable to attend to read his paper' oh' 'A 'New Amphipod,' and the. manuscript was handed over for printing in the society's journal. Mr. L-Glanert delivered- an addren on 'Scorpions.' The address was illustrat ed by living and -mounted specimens, and also by lantern slides, the Jaat of which served to show the comparative struc ture of Australian seorpione. The conclusion of the evening's pro gramme was also in the hands of Mr. Glauert, who furnished as an exhibit a tiny kangaroo. The specimen, taken from the paw of its shot mother, tad not been attached to -the nipple,- and so save evidence as to the one-time furious ly debated 'manner of birth: of the kan garoo. * ', ''-.'' - ? *'?
