DEATH OF AN OLD SETTLER.
FATALITY TO A LABOURER.

Northam, Nov. 26.
Sickness is very prevalent throughout the district and many are down with influenza.
Mr. Jas. French, a highly-respected and well-known larmer, of long standing in the district, died this morning at a good old age.
À labourer in the employ of Mr. Edward Dempster, named Seth Eckles, died this morning from the effects of a fall from a ladder last night, whilst under the influence
of drink.
The weather is cool and pleasant.
The water supply on the Yilgarn road ia becoming very scarce.
Wheat stripping will commence in a few days. The average yield of early sown wheat
will be a fair one.
While everyone is busy, a general'complaint
exists as to the dullness of trade.
