Nati Executioner Held on Charge Of Robbery
BERUM. Wednesday. I
Gustav Voelpel, the Ger- man, executioner who claims to have, beheaded 30 persons since the end of the war, is being held on a charge of robbery.'
He is stated to have worn his executioner's mask while robbing an old woman in the United States sector of Berlin.
Voelpel Is said to have pre- ferred to use the axe in his executions as the guillotine was likely to jam after the second or third victim, whereas he never
missed with an axe.
