BOB HOPE BEST DRAW IN BRITISH THEATRES

T ONDON, Thurs.--British film exhibitors voted the
American comedian Bob Hope the best box office draw of the year in the annual "Motion Picture Herald" poll announced in London today.
Hollywood's Bud Abbott and Lou Costello comedy team was second. British stars Anna Neagle and Jean Simmons were third and fourth.
The American film "Annie Get Your Gun" and the British film "The Blue Lamp" reached a photo finish at the top of the list of films which took most money at British box offices this year.
The four succeeding- films were all British: "The Wooden Horse," "Odette," "The Happiest Days of Your Life," and "Treasure Island."
Anna Neagle's film "Odette" was stated to be a best seller in Europe.
The "Motion Picture Herald," the leading United States film trade paper, compiled the list from a poll among more than 4,500 British ex- hibitors.
