SWAN DISTRICTS' SUCCESS.

Steadier Tha* &mtn Frauitte.

_ Although Swan Districts defeated Sooth Premantle at the Fremantle Oval on Sat urday by 31 points (18.16 to 13J5), there ITOS little to charm* between the teams as

playing entities. B. Chandler had the Swan Districts combination in fine trim for an opening match and himself, in the centre half-forward position, took some excellent marks. Avery, the other Victorian, was prominent throughout in the ruck. Five goals In arrears- at the end of the first quarter, South Fremantle re covered well in the next term, J. Doig (an indefatigable rover), Strong, E. Hay ward, W. Hayward (2) and Poole scoring goals in quick succession. But after half time, when the scores were level, the Swan Districts team was superior. Poole was always prominent, scoring five goals for South Fremantle and W. Hayward, a half -forward, was outstanding in the air. Park was valuable in the ruck for Swan Districts and Taylor showed good understanding In his com bination with Chandler. Krepp, on the wing, was always a source of danger and initiated many of the moves which gave his side goals. Whitaker, the South Fremantle centre, was injured in the first quarter and replaced by Caddy. I-. Mc Comish was field umpire.
