HIGH TREASON
MORE GERMAN TRIALS
PENDING
Alleged Plot Against Hitler
LONDON, Sunday.
Following recent sentences by the People's Court for high treason, when it was revealed that there was a plot to overthrow the present re- gime, the Security Service, number- ing 7,000 members throughout Ger- many entrusted with the Fuhrer's personal safety, is alleged to have un- earthed further ramifications of a plot against the regime, including the projected assassination of Hitler and
other leaders.
The Berlin correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says that already 50 have been sentenced and others face treason trials. Weapons and ex- plosives were discovered in various parts of Germany.
Ernest Nikisch, the well-known au- thor and journalist, and 20 others, will be tried by a tribunal which ex- amined 200 witnesses in the course of a country-wide tour.
The accused, which include both the Rightists and Leftists, expect to
be sentenced to death.
At present, they are segregated in Moabit Prison.
