MELBOURNE, \yednesday.
By -winning the first two heats of the world's professional sprints championship at Exhibition Park to- night, Eddie Tolan, "U.S.A., secured a commanding lead in the point spore The results of to-night's events were:
75 yards: Eddie loian (U.S.A.) 1, Austin Robertson (Victoria) 2, Tom Roberts (N.S.W.) 3, Billie McParlane (Scotland)' 4. Won by a yard, with half a yard between second and third. Time 7j secs. t
100 yards: Tolan 1, Roberts 2, Ro- bertson 3, McFarlane 4.' Won by six inches. Time 9;ยก secs.
Roberts is favoured for the re- maining 130 yards and 220 yards to be decided on Wednesday next, and will have to win both of them with
