FLOOD MENACE GROWS
LACHLAN OVERFLOWS BANKS FEARS IN MURRUMBIDGEE BASIN MOLONGLO RISES AT CANBERRA
SYDNEY, Thursday.
Heavy rain has been recorded in the Riverina and on .the south-west ? slopes of the highlands, one to two
inches being recorded.
Rivers within the area have risen again and local iloodings have occurred on the Lachlan and Murrum-
bidgee.
'¦At Gundagai the river has risen one foot eleven; inches and at Albury the Murray is above flood - level.
? The flood position in the Upper Murray., and Murrumbidgee is still serious, but is less serious than
the Lachlan.
