Titled "Night Club," it will be a modern story of a Melbourne man who starts a cabaret in spile of strong opposition from his farming father.
A scheming, "gold digging" actress tries to upset the enterprise.
Director and script- writer of this first full length picture to be made in Melbourne since the 'thirties is Dick Harwood, who made the first Aus- tralian talkies in 1031.
His most recent film was "Show Business," started in Melbourne in 1938, and completed in Sydney.

Leading lady, in the part of the actress, is Melbourne "blues" singer Joan Bilceaux (above), who was runner-up to Leah McCartney in the recent Miss Victoria quest,
Young man who starts the cabaret will be radio actor Frank Holbrook.
Well-known Melbourne singer Colin Crane, of "Show Boat" fame (right), will be the father, with Joff Ellem,
comedian from the Plaza ^ Theatre, Northcote, as a vaudeville producer.
A number of Melbourne vaudeville acts will be included in this semi musical film. "Shoot- ing" will start next Sat- urday night at the Park Orchards cabaret, near Ringwood.
This sequence will be shot during the cabaret, with the .patrons serving as "extras" and back- ground for the action.
