STARK COLOR FILM TO
BE "SHOT' IN N.T.
Sydney, Monday
AN Australian color film depicting the starkness
and adventure of present-day life in the North- ern Territory will begin production in August.
Mr. Charles Chauvel, who produced "Sons of Matthew," will produce the color film in association with overseas in- terests.
Mr. Chauvel said tonight the film would be cast as much as possible with people living in the Northern Territory.
The script, which he had writ- ten in collaboration with his wife, Elsa; was at present entitled "The Northern Territory Story."
"I decided to produce a North- ern Territory color film after my wife and I toured 8,000 miles of its vaslness last year," Mr. Chau-
vel said.
"We took color tests in asso- ciation with Film Effects Labora- tories, of Hollywood, and flew the
-1
negatives direct from the out- back to Hollywood for process-
ing."
Mr. Chauvel added that a re- cently incorporated company, Charles Chauvel Productions Ltd., would produce the film.
