"HEAVY HARRY"

INVALUABLE

IN EMERGENCY

Because of poor coal and re- pairs to several S class engines, the Victorian Railways have been compelled to use "Heavy Harry," a passenger and goods

engine, to draw the Spirit of

Progress to Albury recently.

"Heavy Harry," which broke down near Seymour on Monday night, was on emergency service between Melbourne and Albury, the Railways Commissioners   said yesterday. It was an H   class locomotive, built to operate   "The Overland" express passen-   ger service between Melbourne   and Adelaide without the need   for double-heading.

Pending strengthening of the   track between Melbourne and   Ararat, "Heavy Harry" was per-   forming invaluable service on   fast goods and emergency work   between Melbourne and Albury.
