GOVERNMENT PUBLIC NOTICE.

Secretary's Office, Sydney,

16th November, 1816.

IN Consideration of the great Number of Free

Pardons, Emancipations, or Conditional Par-

dons and Tickets of Leave which have been

given within the Period of the last three Years,

it is not His EXCELLENCY tbe GOVERNOR'S Intention to grant any at the approaching usual Time, for the ensuing Year And His EXCEL- LENCY hereby directs, that no Applications be

made to him either for Free or Conditional Par-

dons, or Tickets of Leave, on the first Monday of the ensuing Month of December (being the Day prescribed for that Purpose by the Govern- ment and General Orders of the 9th of January, 1813), as none will be received on that Occasion.  

The Chaplains and Magistrates in the several Towns and Districts are hereby instructed to con- sider that Part of the said Government and Ge- neral Orders of the 9th of January, 1813, res- pecting their certifying Memorials for the Purpose of obtaining Remissions of Sentence, as suspended for the present Season ; and they are further di- rectcd not to affix their official Signatures to any   Memorials or Petitions in Favor of Persons pray- ing for Remission of Sentence at the approaching

Period, formerly prescribed, as, for the Reasons

herein assigned, none will be received at that Time.
