A SEPARATION.
-.
MONACO'S PRINCESS.
PRINCE PIERRE TO BE
BANISHED.
(Australian Press Association)
MONACO, March 22.
Under a separation settlement con- cluded in Paris, Prince Pierre will re- turn the Princess's diary. The Prince will continue to enjoy the titles and prerogatives granted at the time of the marriage, but will not be allowed to reside in the principality or to visit it without the consent of the reign- ing prince, Prince Louis. He will re- ceive an annuity, probably £3000 to £4000, besides a grant towards the maintenance and education of his children, who have been placed in his custody. Thus the possibility of Prince Pierre becoming Regent has been definitely ruled out, and Prince Rainier's succession confirmed, even in the event of the marriage being annulled by Rome.
[The Hereditary Princess Charlotte Louise Juliette (Duchess de Valen- tinois) married Prince Pierre de Mon- aco (Count de Polignac) on March 19, 1920. A daughter, Princess Antoinette, was bom on December 28, 1920, and a son, Prince Rainier, on May 31,
1923.]
