LINEN TEA.

In honour of the approaching mar- riage of Miss Dorothy iMwaras to Mr. W. H. Browne Gardiner, Miss M. Dyne (Sydney), assisted by Miss Dunstan Caddan, entertained a number ol friends at a Unen tea at Rowe's ban- que, hall last Saturday. Large basfeecs of ros.s. set In pouiiƤs oi p.nk tulle, beautified the tea table, and each guest's place was marked with a place card in the form of a little Japanese ladles, holding sunshades, and also miniature baskets of sweets, with kewples attached. Musical items were rendered, and competitions were en- joyed. Those who accepted invitations included Mesdames J. E. Dyne, R. H. M'Leod, Boyce, F. Edwards, O'Donnoll, Peterson, Misses N. Edwards, J. Fib worth, E. Hamilton. M. De Grono, Cribb, E. Rless. Herbert, G. and V. Bell, L. Cowen, Boyce, Stephenson.
