An Aboriginal Legend.
By "LITTLE LARRIKIN."
IN this district (North Coast) there are two mountains. One is named Ninderry and the other Coolum. There is a native legend about these two mountains and an island close by, called Mudjimba Island. This legend says that Ninderry and Coolum were
great spirits who quarrelled over a native girl. Great stones were hurled, and one thrown by Ninderry knocked Coolum's cap off, and it fell into the sea, and was called Mudjimba Island. This island is covered with vines and thick vegetation, and is uninhabited.
