SYDNEY, Wcdncsdaj - So far as Uli« city is concerned the proposed trip of J-cdcial legislators to Japan would not be opposed, providing that they paid their own cápenles It is not believed, however, that any specially useful results could accrue, for the reason that the Japanese would (owing to their natural characteris- tics of hospitality and courtesy, and quito without nnj subtle scheme) give them a good time, and the Australian popnlaco would, therefore, discount the favourable opinions brought back Australian» have been ready to sneer at trippers of the type of Su John Toster Fraser, who, after can tering thiough a countrj, und talking to people on trims and steamers, wrote a book No doubt, we shall alwaja be cvrtical towards them, but if a tnined and experienced observer like Sir John Iostcr Fraser cannot m a country that speaks his hnguige gither correct impressions from a liastj ruu through, how can it be expected that Luropcans visiting an Orien- tal countrj can do so Our city men think tint Parhar-entan pícnica m Australia hive moie justification than that under notice and a better chance of bringing some return, even though infinitesimal, to those who pay the bil]

Eight Men Thrown from Car
Eight men who were returning from a race meeting at Menangle (N.S.W.) on Tuesday evening were thrown out of a motor car on the Campbelltown road near Liverpool. The motorcar turned a somersault. Alfred Paine, of South Kensington, sustained injures to the head and hand, and was admitted to hospital. Vincent Angles, bookmaker, of Kensington, had his collarbone broken. The other occupants of the car escaped with slight injuries.
