The late Mr. Paul Alfred Kob, whose death at the age of 78 took place last Tuesday at his residence, Reinbach, New Sandgate road, after a lingeiing illness, had been in Queensland for 51 years, during which time he had occupied responsible posi- tions. He first joined a mercantile firm at Ipswich, where he remained for about three years, and left to join Queensland civil service, commencing in the Auditor- General's department. After several years in that department he was transferred to the Home Secretary's Department, rising to the position of accountant, which posi- tion he held for about 11 years, until reaching the age limit, when he retired He made many friends, and xvas of a most genial disposition. His funeral took place last Wednesday to the Toowong cemetery. The late Mr Kob was married at Brisbane on October 12, 1868, to Marion Eliza Imrie, and he was an uncle of the late Lieutenant Colonel Hubert Harris.
