Brisbane Lacrosse Club.
A meeting was held at the rooms of the Y.M.C.A. on Monday for the purpose of forming a Lacrosse Club. Mr. R. W. Ball, a former member of the Sydney Lacrosse
Club, and Mr. C. R. Finlay, formerly of the Fitzroy Lacrosso Club, explained the manner in which the game was played in Canada and Australia, and both were enthusiastic in its praise. The secretary reported a list of twenty- one gentlemen who definitely promised to join the club as players. These included old crack players in Sydney, Melbourne, Canada, Ireland, and Cambridge University. The name decided upon was Brisbane Lacrosse Club. The uniform decided upon was navy blue knickerbockers and cap, red stockings and sash, and white shirt. Sub-committees were appointed to draft constitution and rules make preliminary arrangements for beginning play, and also to ascertain what grounds would be available during the season.
