Play To Be Filmed
LONDON, Nov. 4. An independent British company is to film a play written for television by a 41-year-old Australian, Rex Rienits.
The play is called "Assassin for Hire." It was put on by the B.B.C. in September.
Anglo Amalgamated Films Ltd. told Rienits tooday that the film of the story would go "on the floor" at Merton Park Studios, London, on November 13.
The lead will be played by Sydney Tafler, who played the same part in the television ver- sion.
The main supporting role is filled by Ronald Howard (Les- lie Howard's son).
Some critics hailed the play as one of the best written for television.
The story is set in Soho London's most cosmopolitan
The company hopes to dis- tribute the film in Australia.
Rienits said to-day that three film companies-including one of the biggest-have asked to see the script of his second television play, "The Million Pound Note," which is based on a short story by Mark
Rienits carne to England l8 months ago. His first success was the B.B.C. production of
