At a, meeting of the council of the Syd- ney Chamber of Commerce yesterday Mr. R .J. Hawkes was elected president for
Mr. Hawkes filled the office of president of 1hc chamber in 1930-31 and 1931-3-. Since thal time he has been chairman of the chamber's tariff section. He has been associated with the Red Cross for many years, holding the office of chairman of the New South Wales division. He is also pre- sident of the New South Wales Ambulance Transport Board.
Mr. F. H. Corke was elected vice-president and Mr. V ? G. Watson honorary treasurer. Mr. Corkc , had been honorary treasurer for the, past two years.
