MR. CLARENCE BADGER ARRIVES.
Mr. Clarence Badger, the film producer, who is to direct the film "Rangle River," arrived | in Sydney by the Makura yesterday. He is i connected with Columbia Pictures Inc., and
has produced several films which have been shown In Australia, notably those featuring Clara Bow. His latest film was "When Strangers Marry," in which Jack Holt had
the lead.
Mr. Badger said that much of the success of the Industry In Australia would depend on studio equipment, and facilities lor perfect sound recording. Technical skill was the framework to which must be attached the other ûonstituents oí production.
. "My aim is to give 'Rangle River' an inter- national appeal," continued Mr. Badger. "I consider Victor Jory, who is coming from Hollywood to play the lead, an excellent type for the part. I think It likely that Columbia will make more films in Australia.
"Colour films must come eventually," said Mr. Badger. "At present the process is too complicated. Colour films would be ideal for Australia."_
