CINESOUND PRODUCTIONS.

The directors of Cinesound Productions. Ltd., have forwarded a small, finely-printed souvenir booklet illustrating their various studios and the equipment therein, and re- ferring to past achievements. Australasian Films, Ltd. (the original Cinesound organisa- tion) made the first feature-length film in Australia, and produced the first v/eekly news reel. After the war, it brought out "The Adorable Outcast," the cost of which was £40.000, and "For the Term of His Natural Life," which cost £60,000-two of the most ambitious silent filmi made In this country. The first feattue-length talking film, "On Our Selection," broke theatre records for attend- ance all over Australia. At present, the No. 3 studio at Waverley occupies 20,000 square feet, and employs over a hundred craftsmen In production and processing. It is the only studio in the southern hemisphere which carries out, in a complete form, all the stages of production, processing, sound recording, and the preparation of topical, scenic, educational, industrial, and microscopic films. The Cine- sound Review (formerly the Australasian Films Gazette) has been showing in theatres week by week since the beginning of the century. __-^____-_______
