SHOOTING CHARGE.
ALLEGED GUNMAN REMANDED.
Walter Tomlinson, 31, a wharf labourer, who appeared at the Central Police Court yesterday, on a charge of having shot at James Edward Devine, with intent to com- mit murder, was remanded until Friday.
"Tomlinson is known to the police as a gunman," said Sergeant Thomas (police pro- secutor), when defendant applied for bail. It was alleged, the sergeant added, that Tom- linson and other men had raided Devine's home at Maroubra, on the night of July 18, when several shots were fired. After having fired twice at Devine, defendant was wounded.
Mr. Cohen, S.M., fixed bail at £500.
