The Defence Department last night issued the 34th List of Casualties sustained by the Australian Troops at the Dardanelles. The List contains the

ROLL OF HONOUR.
In the 34th casualty list, issued last night,
52 officcrs and men have either been killed in action or died of wounds. Twenty men arc missing, 8 have died from various ill
illnesses, 5 are dangerously ill and 224 of all ranks are wounded. An interesting feature is found in the progress report. Lieutenant McDonald of Caulfield, has been reported by the consul for the United States of America in Constantinople as a prisoner in that city, and well treatcd. The total losses to date are: —

MAJOR J. S. DENTON.
Major James S. Denton (wounded) was born in Adelaide, and came to South Mel- bourne with his parents when he was very young. He was educated at the City road, South Melbourne, State school, and worked for some time with Anselm, Odling, and Sons, South Melbourne, and eventually went to Western Australia, where he rose to a high position in the correspondence branch of the Railway department. When the Duke of York (our present King) visited Melbourne he acted on his bodlyguard.
LIEUTENANT R. MILLER.
Lieutenant Randolph Miller was a native of Whithorn, Scotland. He entered the army in 1886 (Black Watch), and served 23 years in Egypt, Mauritius. Gibraltar, Cape Town, India, and South Africa, gain ing two distinctions and medals.
PRIVATE E. M. CHAMBERS.
Private E. M. Chambers (killed) was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. M. K. Chambers, of Ascotvale, where he was well known. He was a bookbinder by trade, having served his apprenticeship with Messrs. Sands and McDougall, and was later em- ployed by William Detmold. He had been reported wounded three weeks before he was killed, and was 22 years of age.
CORPORAL H. CHAMBERS.
Corporal Harold Chambers (killed) was a son of Mr. George Chambers, of Kyneton. He was a member of the Kyneton Lacrosse Club, taking part in all their matches dur ing recent years. His 20th birthday was on
December 24 last.
PRIVATE C. DODDS.
Private Clarence Dodds (killed in action
on May 25) was the eldest son of Mr. Frank
Dodds, of Scott's Creek. He was born at Penshurst, and was 25 years of age.
PRIVATE D. H. FINDLAY.
Private David Henry Findlay (killed) was
26 years of age. He was born at Echuca, and lived and worked there until he en- listed. He was the eldest son of William Findlay (secretary of the Echuca Eight Hours Association), and for some years was employed at the Federal Grocery Store.
PRIVATE E. B. HOLDSWORTH.
Private E. B. Holdsworth (killed in ac
tion) came to Australia from Scarborough, England, about a year ago. He enlisted in Western Australia, where he had been em
ployed.
PRIVATE A. G. HURNE.
Private Hurne (died of wounds) resided
with his brother, William James Hurne, 136 Gold street, Clifton Hill. He was a
native of Collingwood, and was a shearer.
PRIVATE R. K. McLEAN.
Private R. K. McLean (killed) was the
second son of Mr. Colin McLean, general merchant, of Meeniyan. He was born at Harrow on the 27th December, 1889. His only brother is the Rev. Norman McLean,
of Donald.
PRIVATE S. McCAULAY.
Private Stephen McCaulay (killed in ac- tion) was a resident of Culcairn. He was
employed at Messrs. Prescott and Steven-
son's farm.
PRIVATE W. A. O'BRIEN.
Private W. Arthur ("Pat") O'Brien (died of wounds) was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. O'Brien, of Seymour street. South Preston. He was 22 years of age, and for several years was employed at the factory of Messrs. J. C. Hutton, in the lard depart- ment. Prior To enlisting he was a Metho- dist local preacher in the Preston circuit, and was studying with the object of being nominated for the Methodist ministry. Both
his grandfathers and great grandfather were fighting with the British navy in the Cri mean war, He also has twelve relations flighting at the front and his younger bro ther is in camp at Broadmeadows.
PRIVATE M O'CONNELL
Private M. O'Connell, 5th Battalion (died of wounds), was a hairdresser in business in Footscray. He was 24 years of age. His nearest relative, a sister, Mrs J Parrott, lives at Beech Forest.
PRIVATE M. PARISH
Private Montague Parish (died of wounds) was 26 years of age and a son of Mrs. Margaret Parish, Elgin street, Carl ton.
PRIVATE R. PRESTON
Private Richard Preston (killed) went all through the Boer war, and held the medal and four clasps. He was a good all round athlete, a splendid shot and footballer, and was in the Kerang Mounted Rifles. He leaves a wife at Glenalbyn. His sister, Mrs McKenzie, lives near Kerang, and he has a brother in Melbourne.
PRIVATE N. ROONEY
Private Norman Rooney (killed) was the third son of Mr. V.T. Rooney, of Ring- wood and was 20 years of age. Prior to enlisting he was studying architecture, and was a member of the Choral Society at Ringwood.
PRIVATE D. SAY
Private Douglas Say, 12th Battalion, Tas
mania (died of wounds) is a son of the Rev.
George Say, of Middle Lambrook, Somer
setshire, England, and was employed, prior to enlisting by Messrs. Hawkins and Co.,
of Hobart, Tasmania. His brother, Private L. Say (formerly of the Victorian Educa
tion department) was reported missing on
June 1.
PRIVATE H. G. H. SMITH
Private H. G. H. Smith (killed) was born at Koroit, Victoria. He was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Smith, of Barkly
street east, and was 23 years of age, and a blacksmith.
LANCE-CORPORAL S. H. WHITING
Lance-Corporal S. H. Whiting (died of wounds) was 22 years of age. He was born at Collingwood, and was an employee at Beecham's timber yard, Melbourne.
PRIVATE A. G. MARYON WILSON
Private A. G. Maryon Wilson (killed) was a son of the late Rev. George Maryon Wilson, of Great Canfield, Essex, England. His mother, who lives in England, is a daughter of the late Bishop Short, of Ade laide. He was educated at Radley, and
after taking a degree at Cambridge, came to Queensland six years ago, and took up land. Of his two brothers, one is driving a motor ambulance at the front near Ypres,
and the other a clergyman, is listed for a chaplaincy and meanwhile, serving as a
special constable in England. An ancestor fought for the States of Holland, and took
part in the seige of Louvain in 1635.
PRIVATE E. R. WILSON
Private Edgar Ralph Wilson (missing) is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Wilson of Howlong Road, Chiltern, and 19 years of age. He is a splendid bushman, and one of the best rough-riders in the north-east.
LANCE-CORPORAL W. WILSON
Lance-Corporal W. Wilson (killed) was a son of the late Mrs E. Wilson, of Yar- ram. He was 38 years of age.
PRIVATE J. W. WOODS
Private John William Woods (killed) was nearly 24 years of age. He was the only son of Mr and Mrs John Woods, of Huddersfield, Robinson- street, Moonee
Ponds. He had just completed 10 years with Mason, Firth, and McCutcheon of Bank place, city.
PRIVATE A. L. ALLAN
Private A. L. Allan is a native of Williams town, and is about 20 years of age. He was educated at the North Williamstown State school, is a good rifle shot, and won the championship of Victoria for cadets under 15 in his year. He was attached to the transportation branch of the railways. He is a son of Mr. D. I. Allan, Koro- roit road, Williamstown.
PRIVATE G. ANSET
Private George Anset (wounded) is a son of Mrs. D. Hamilton, of Marong, and formerly of Bagshot. He is 20 years of age, and is a butcher by trade.

Sergeant Archibald A. Ashmore (wounded) is the eldest son of Mr. Alfred B. Ashmore of Mel bourne, and brother of Corporal H. E. Ashmore (also wounded). He resided with his father at Clifton Hill, and is 24 years of age.

ously hurt. He is a brother of Miss Eva Benson of W.A., who has recently been "accepted" at the Royal Academy for a sculptural bust of Sir Winthrop Hackett.

Private Frederick H. Boys (slightly wounded) will be 20 years of age in July. He is a son of Mr F. Boys, of Hope street, Bendigo, and was employed as a linesman by the Electric Supply Company of Bendigo.

Private James A. Brown (wounded) is a son of Mr. John Brown, of North Wonthaggi, and is well known in Colvin grove, Hawthorn, He is 18 years of age. Mr Brown has another son on the way to the front.

Callanan, Horsham, Victoria, and the youngest of three brothers who joined the Expe ditionary Force. PRIVATE W. W. CARTER.
Mrs. S. Carter, Church street, Traralgon, writes that photographs of her son, Private W. W. Carter have been given amongst the pictures of those killed, but so far no notification has been made to her about her son. The Defence department (base records) has no record of W. W. Carter having been killed. W. Carter (Abbotsford) is among the list of those who died of wounds. The photograph of W. W. Carter (Traralgon) was therefore published in error, and it is evident that the mistake was made by the photographer who supplied the photograph.
SERGEANT J. P. COWEY.
Sergeant J. P. Cowey (wounded) is the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Cowey, of The Patch, beyond Belgrave, where they took up land over 20 years
ago, and were burnt out in the 1898 bush fires. He is 25 years old. His elder and only brother was seriously wounded at the assault on Gaba Tepe (Lieut. R. O. Cowey). Word has come through that both of the brothers are making good pro gress and that Lieut. Cowey left for England on
