JIB. HUGHES' VIEW.
NO GOVERNOR-GENERAL FOR SYDNEY.
Mr. Hughes, Acting Prime Minister, stat- ed to-day that be had not received any offi- cial Intimation of the proposed extension of the lease of Government House, Sydney
Continuing, he said:-"I do not see that add-, ing a couple of months to the term will over- come the difficulty. The question is not what the Governor-General will de next week, or in the next three months, but what be is go- ing to do for the next four or five years. One thing is clear that he cannot do. Unless we can suitably bouse him in Sydney, he can-! not go there."
