TUE BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS'
ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of the Builders and Con- tractors' Association was held in the offices, Pitt street, lost night Mr D M'Intyre, the president occupied the chair A letter from the National Association asking the Builders' Association to pro- test against the Government scheme of taxation was received Messrs. A D Scouller, Palace-street, Marrickville J J Scouller, Enmore-road, Marrick- ville , and Allen Taylor, of Collins-street, Annan- dale F Hart (Carrington Brick Company), 173 Devonshire-street, and J Wilson, Darlington-road, Darlington, were elected members of the exchange. On the motion of Mr U W Carpenter it was re- solved to admit plumbers, puntera, and slaters to the membership of tbe association
Mr James White moved,-" That a public meet- ing of budden and contractors be held at an early date to protest against the action of the Minister for Works m connection with the Government Printing Office tenders, and that all buddera be invited to attend " Mr George seconded the motion
Mr Mainer denounced the action of the Munster. The motion was earned unanimously, and a com« mittee was appointed to carry it into effect.
