HILLGROVE, Saturday.
The Baker's Creek Company has cleaned up for the past fortnight. From 295 tons of quartz 1091oz. of gold were obtained, the returns coming back to the old form The jumpers went down again this morning, tore up the rails and generally obstructed the work. The manager, in order to keep the work moving, repaired the truck line and instructed his men to resent any further interference. Shortly afterwards the jumpers were removed from the mine by the Baker's Creek men, and have not attempted to return. It now appears that the ground they claim is worked out. Even if they get possession it is
worthless.
The Sunlight Company, through their legal manager, are making strenuous efforts to get the Cooney Creek- road repaired out of the amount voted for that purpose, as their boiler is lying at Armidale and cannot be carried to the works owing to the impassable state of the road. They will have to discharge their men and wait for fine weather if the road is not repaired. The Lady Car- rington boiler and the engine for the battery were lowered down the falls this week. The reef is being driven southerly, and is looking better than ever, showing gold freely all over the face. Baker's Creek North clean up on Monday. The Primrose Company starts crushing next week.
BROKEN HILL, Sundat
A fino discovery of rich kaolin oro was made lato on Friday night iu the west crosscut off the north drive of the 300ft lovel of Broken Hill South mine lho oro carnea native silver, and open« up fine prospects In conjnnction with the striking of carbonato ore at the 350ft. level It is to be remembered that kaolin ore assaying SOOoz of silver!« to bo obtained in the Central mino at the 300ft level, about 20ft from the south boundary, and what has boon struck in the South mino is probably a continuation of this bod} I also
visited the south shaft of the Junction mine at tho 120ft level, where the drivo has been run 80ft on a
\ ein of carbonate ore right to the boundary of the pro- perty I hi« ia said to average 50oz of silver and 30 per cent of lead It gives good prospecta for tho British mine, aa thia lode is over 12ft wide and gooa right into it, and the British manager will commence driving on it very shortly. Tkore is nothing eleo fresh in the
Jonction mine

A largo amount of work had ben performed in No. 2 shaft, whioh had been sunk a depth of 185 foot. Pro gross had been slow owing to tho hardnoss of tbo ground, and although tho gold obtainod averaged 18dwt. to tho ton tho dilhculty of getting out a suffi- cient quantity prevented tho mino being profltably worked.
