SIR ISAAC ALFRED ISAACS
His distinguished career in law and politics over a long period have been such as to gain universal commenda- tion of the honour of knighthood, which has been bestowed upon Sir Isaac Alfred Isaacs, senior puisne Judge of the High Court of Australia.
After a brilliant scholarship at Mel- bourne University, where he graduat- ed with first-class honours, Sir Isaac was called to the bar in 1880 and rose
very rapidly in the profession, being made a Queen's Council in 1889. He
