ADELONG.
The gold convoy for February took away 783oz of gold, not. only 71?oz as stated in the columnsof the ADELONG EXPRESS last issue.
Mr. R.. J. Benson, of the Adelong butchery, has an important announce- ment in our advertising columns re- garding a reduction of meat for spot cash as from to-day. A list of the prices are stated.
Mr. Wm; Scott, miner, of Shepards- town, died last Wednesday and was buriedThursday. He had been unable to work for some consider- able time, being a victim to that hopeless disease, " miners' consump tion." Deceased, whose wife prede- ceased him some two years ago, leaves eight young children, helpless but for their grandmother, who is solely de- pendent on the old-age pension for
support.
Negotiations are pending for the purchase of one or two mining properties here by a wealthy specula-
tor.
It is reported that a couple of reefs were struck last week in the Gibraltar Coy's., mines by tbe sinking contract
