Laver. 28, defeated fel lmv-Australian Ken Rose wall. five times winner of the event. 6-2, 6-2. 6-3 in the final at the Empire Pool. Wembley, for a first prize of 52,500.

Rosewall found that noth

68 minutes - one of the fastest finals on record.

It was no classic final to rank with the best of pre vious years.

Laver broke Rosewall's service five times.

Rosewall tried to make a more lasting impression with clever variations of pace but Laver could not be rattled.

Rosewall found every thing coming back at him and it must have been a heartbreaking experience for a player so gifted as he to admit that he was playing only a supporting role last night.
