Help on technical aspects

How do I give feedback about the service?

The best way to give feedback about Trove is to fill in the contact us form. Adding a link to a page which illustrates your point helps us understand your feedback.

How do I increase the font size?

If you are using a recent version of Firefox or Internet Explorer, press ctrl and the + key at the same time to increase the font size. Most browsers let you choose whether to increase the size of the whole page, or just the text, by adjusting the settings in your browser.

To set the font size back to normal, press ctrl and the – key at the same time to decrease the font size.

What is a work?

When you search Trove, each result in the list is a work. A work groups all the different editions and versions of the same book into one page. For example, “Black Beauty” by Anna Sewell was published in large print as well as in several different illustrated editions. Another edition has an introduction by Charles Keeping. All of these different editions can be considered the same work.

Works are not limited to books. Many articles, maps, and so on can also be grouped.

Your site is having some display problems. What’s wrong?

The service works best in Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox 3+ or Safari 4+, at a screen resolution of 1024×768 or higher. If you have an older version we recommend that you upgrade your browser before using Trove.

Occasionally your browser may receive an invalid file which means the site is not displayed correctly. Try the following to fix it:

  • Internet Explorer on Windows – Press Ctrl + F5
  • Firefox on Windows – Press Shift + Ctrl + R
  • Firefox on a Mac – Press Shift + Cmd + R
  • Safari on a Mac – Press Cmd + R (or hold down the Shift key and click the Reload button)
