Ebenezer Farm
Does anyone have any info about Ebenezer Farm? My Husband's Grandfather Christopher Hough was born there in 1862..was wondering if it was in Bunbury, West Australia.

G'day,
Using the Geoscience Australia 'Place Name Search' (http://www.ga.gov.au/place-name/), which is very handy, I could not find any place in Australia named "Ebenezer Farm". But there is an "Ebenezer Flats" in Western Australia inland from Perth at -31º 53' 36'' S, 116º 26' 0'' E. This seems to be somewhere around the Great Southern Highway, east of a place called 'The Lakes'.
Does this sound like your place?

Found the following in The Perth Gazette and Independent Journal of Politics and News dated 27 Dec 1861 http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article2933607 and 3 Jan 1862 http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article2933624
FOUND on the run of the undersigned, a three-year-old steer, white star or diamond on forehead, legs white, marked red near tail on rump, red patches on sides, no brand visible. Unless claimed duly, will be sold to defray expenses.
J. HOUGH, JUN. Ebenezer Farm, near Bunbury, December 23, 1861.
There are also a few Family Notices concerning Christopher James Hough in the West Australian Newspapers.

Thanks for your reply...Ebenezer Flats is close to Bunbury which is where I think the farm was situated. Perhaps the farm was named for the area Ebenezer Flats? Thanks also for the "place name" site. PB

Thanks for your reply and info. At last I can narrow the location down to Bunbury which is where I thought it might be. I have been checking "family notices" via Trove but looks like I should also check out articles. Christopher Hough was my Husband's GF. Thanks for your help much appreciated.
